My Melitta EX-103 has lasted 10 years

For forty bucks, the thing has been a trooper. Now, however, I find that it's steam is reduced. I've done the vinegar cleanings--twice. Then I used a wire to clean out the steam pipe. Still more steam is escaping from the lid than goes through the wand.

So I'm now looking at replacing or reseating the gasket in the lid, which is where the steam is escaping. Either there is a BIG clog back where I can't get to it, or the escape from the top reduces the steam.

I gave one to my daughter's friend an MEX-1B in 2003 and in 2009 it is still good.

All in all, nothing else lasts that long these days--not vacuum cleaners, dish washers. So I've gotten my money's worth years ago.
