We are on our second Tassimo

by Michael Richling
(Ottawa, Canada)

The quality of the coffee is fine, but our problem is with the unit after a few weeks of two or three coffees a day has begun to 'blow a disk'. It seems that part of way through the process, the edge of the disk lets go and the pressure of the water going into the disk, blows out the edge between the plastic tub and foil seal, causing a torrent of coffee grounds down the outside of the unit, all over the cup and counter. It then requires a clean up and though it may not happen again for a couple of drinks, it will surprise you when you least expect it.

It has happened with various drinks, so it's not just one type/brand of drink/disk or a particular user.

Now to be fair, when we contacted Tassimo about this problem the first time, they sent us a replacement right away, no questions asked. But now this new machine is doing it as well.

Final conclusion is to go to a different machine. And we have a significant investment in coffee disks now stored in the cupboard that is now of no use.
